At 13:08 on Monday, 9 February, 2026, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Market Drayton.

4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Prees and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

An RTC involving one pickup with trailer and two cars. One casualty extricated from vehicle using Holmatro cutting equipment. Two casualties conveyed to hospital by ambulance and 3 released from scene by paramedics. The A53 is currently closed.

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

RTC involving more than 3 vehicles and 1 vehicle on fire. Van extinguished using 2 hosereel jets, and 3 breathing apparatus in use.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Clun and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:

One car which has left the carriageway into hedges. Crews made the vehicle electrically safe using small gear. Casualties had self extricated prior to the arrival of the fire service. Casualties are in the care of paramedics.
