7 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch, Hodnet, Minsterley, Newport, Shrewsbury, Tweedale and Wellington. Operations, Fire Investigation, Safety and Principal officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Electric Saws/Cutters
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation
• Thermal imaging camera

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Fire involving a residential nursing home measuring 40m x 20m. Fire in roof space of a ground floor extension. Property heavily smoke logged. All residents are safe.
