Oreton near Cleobury Mortimer

At 23:29 on Monday, 22 January, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Oreton near Cleobury Mortimer .

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow.

Fire crews remain at the scene of a large property fire damping down and attempting to make the building safe. One person who is believed to be the occupant remains unaccounted for at the incident. Sections of the building are in danger of collapse. Specialist USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) resources have been deployed to the incident to assist with the search for the missing man. The cause of the fire is at this stage unknown and being investigated by Police and Fire Investigators. Crews worked tirelessly throughout the night to bring the fire under control and are expected to remain on scene damping down hot spots throughout the day. The community are asked to check that any smoke alarms work and also to keep an eye out for vulnerable neighbours and relatives.

At 14:38 on Saturday, 13 January, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Meadowlea, Madeley, Telford.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Telford Central and Tweedale.

Report of electricity meter on fire. The incident was found to be a false alarm caused by the electrics overheating. Supply to the property was isolated by fire service personnel using small gear and specialist safety gloves.

6 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Ellesmere, Market Drayton, Oswestry, Prees and Tweedale. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch and Ellesmere. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Short extension ladder
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving upstairs bedroom of an end of terraced 3 bedroomed domestic property. Fire extinguished using 2 hose reels jets, 1 covering jet and 4 breathing apparatus. Fire Investigation carried out.
