At 17:14 on Sunday, 9 June, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in M54 between Jct4 and Jct 5 Westbound.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Telford Central and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Report of smoke issuing from vehicle on the hard shoulder of the motorway. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm caused by a mechanical fault.

This incident involved 1 car 50% damaged by fire, believed to have been caused by an electrical fault. Crews used 2 hosereel jets and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish fire. Fire investigation officer also in attendance.
