Fire involving small quantity of rubbish and approximately 30x30m of grassland and hedgerow. Fire extinguished using two hose reel jets and one misting lance.

At 19:53 on Sunday, 24 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

7 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Newport, Prees, Shrewsbury, Tweedale and Wellington. Operations, Safety and Principal officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Fire involving approximately 250m x 50m of trees and undergrowth. Crews used 2 main jets, 2 45mm jets, 2 breathing apparatus' and fogging unit from Incident Support Unit. Drone has also been launched to look for hot spots. Water carrier from Bridgnorth utilised to ferry water to incident.
