At 10:20 on Saturday, 12 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Much Wenlock.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet

This incident involved a controlled burn. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet due to extreme weather conditions and proximity to adjacent field.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Support Unit was mobilised from Church Stretton and Minsterley.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Thermal imaging camera

Small fire caused by bonfire. Fire Service personnel used one hosereel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

Car Fire

Nr Alveley Cricket Club Bridgnorth

At 18:40 on Friday, 11 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Bridgnorth.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet

One vehicle destroyed by fire as well as approximately 30m of hedgerow which had also caught fire. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish as well as using a fogging unit from the Incident Support Unit.

A458 Harley to Cressage Much Wenlock

At 18:26 on Friday, 11 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Much Wenlock.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Much Wenlock and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Beaters
  • Hosereel jet

Large field fire measuring 100m by 200m of hay and bails. Crews extinguished the fire using extended hosereel jets and beaters.

At 12:36 on Friday, 11 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Ellesmere.

1 fire appliance was mobilised.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Thermal imaging camera

This was an out of control bonfire which had spread to a nearby field, crews used 1 hosereel jet and a thermal imaging camera.

Build bonfires well clear of buildings and never use flammable liquids to start the fire. Before you light the bonfire, check that children and animals are not hiding inside and are a safe distance away. Don't leave bonfires unattended. Don't light bonfires in unsuitable weather conditions.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Telford Central.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet

One car completely destroyed by fire and adjacent trees also affected. Crews used two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire. Road closed by Shropshire Highways and Police in attendance.
