At 18:34 on Friday, 23 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Much Wenlock.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Conifer trees alight which were out on arrival of crews. Crews used one hosereel jet to dampen down the area and then checked for further hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.

Fire involving 5 meters squared of conifer hedge in garden. This was an accidental fire due to neighbouring bonfire. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and drag rakes and proceeded to check for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.
